Milky Way at Crater Lake

  • Info

I arrived at Crater Lake National Park not long before sunset. As a result, there were no available campsites and backcountry camping was not a option since the permit office had already closed for the day. With my limited options, I decided to simply stay awake all night and explore the area under the light of the stars.

With the help of the handy phone app SkySafari and my new Black Diamond headlamp, I determined when the Milky Way would be vertical and took advantage.
